How can a sheet of paper, a magnet, and a coil of wire become a working speaker?
In this hands-on workshop, students will build their own functioning paper speaker using simple materials while exploring the fascinating science behind sound and electromagnetism. By connecting their speaker to an audio source, they'll discover how electrical signals are transformed into vibrations that produce sound.
As they build and experiment, students will investigate how electromagnets create movement, how speakers convert electrical energy into sound, and how different design choices affect volume and sound quality. They'll test, refine, and improve their speakers while developing practical electronics skills and a deeper understanding of real-world physics.
